Thank You

2017 Year End Report

Now that 2017 is behind us, we always like to take a look back at our operations for the year.  We have compiled metrics on the number of volunteer hours invested in our Mission last year.  There were 462 individuals who volunteered their time and talents in 2017.  In total, those volunteers appeared 2,961 times, and contributed 7,070 hours.  This analysis did not include our harvesters (as they don't log their time) and it only includes time entered on the Volunteer Log sheets.

To Our Donors:

We currently rescue food from Jewel, Mariano's, Sunset Foods, and Target.  We wish to thank them for their on-going food donations.

We also wish to thank our harvesters for the steadfast effort they put forth in providing this critical pick up service.

In the Summer, fresh produce is donated by the Jubilee Garden in Lake Zurich and Smart Farm in South Barrington.

We wish to thank our wonderful, supportive St. Francis de Sales community who always step up when we have special needs, whether it be for specific food needs, monetary donations, or labor.

Our thanks also go out to our partners like Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington, who bring various health screenings and flu shots to our food pantry customers during the year.

The Rotary Club of Lake Zurich generously donates new and used books to our food pantry customers each month.

To Our Volunteers:

Our large family of volunteers is critical to the success of our organization.  We appreciate the selfless hours they donate to service our community.  So many times we forget to thank those who show up every Thursday, work behind the scenes, may it be case work, thank you letters, financial work, unloading trucks in frigid or sweltering temperatures, stocking shelves, ordering foodand supplies, working on the endless paper work and computer work ~ the list goes on and on.  We appreciate  those who share their smiles and hearts with our clients and everyone who makes up our beautiful SVDPLZ Family.
